Our Mission
The Makerere Epidemiology and Statistical Center (MESC) is a research consultancy and training institution committed to strengthening research capacity across Africa. We provide expert support in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, and implementation science to students, academic institutions, NGOs, and government agencies.
Founded with the vision of bridging the gap between research methodology and real-world application, MESC offers end-to-end research support — from study design and ethical review preparation through data collection, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Our team brings expertise in advanced statistical modeling, machine learning for health, causal inference, survival analysis, multilevel modeling, qualitative and mixed-methods research, and bioinformatics. We are passionate about training the next generation of African researchers and producing evidence that shapes health policy.
